I've Lost My Mind...

"If it was easy everyone would be doing it" and "If it wasn't this hard I wouldn't be doing it."

On June 25, 2012 my judgement got the best of me. All rational thoughts left my brain as I started filling in the registration form. What was I thinking?!? Ironman CdA registration was open and I hadn't even thought about doing it. Most people think about it for days, sometimes weeks, before committing to 140.6 miles. I filled in the form and sat for over an hour before hitting the "Submit" button. It wasn't until I heard it had sold out (although it hadn't) and I got anxious that I missed the chance to register that I knew I wanted to do the race. So I hit submit, signed my life away for the next year and there started my road to Ironman Coeur d'Alene.

For those of you that don't know what an Ironman is, let me break it down for you. It's a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike and 26.2 mile run. And you have 17 hrs to complete it. The gun goes off at 7am and you have until 11:59:59 to cross that finish and hear the announcer excitedly say "You. Are. An. Ironman."

Wish me luck!
